Thousands of students gearing up for annual Dawe Run

St. Patrick’s Community School and G.H. Dawe School are once again teaming up to co-host this year’s annual Dawe Run on Sept. 24.

Officials with Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools describe the 41st annual as a huge event with all Grade 4 to 12 students from each school division taking part. Grade 4-9 students will be running 3km, while Grade 10-12 students will run 5km.

“This is an exciting opportunity to create community and sportsmanship,” says Terri Lynn Mundorf, principal at St. Patrick’s Community School. “We are pleased to recognize the top athletes as well as students that tried their very best through the Heart and Hustle Award. This award is given to one student at each school who demonstrated a positive attitude, encouraged others and demonstrated sportsmanship.”

“We are always excited about the opportunity for our school division to collaborate with Red Deer Public Schools and we look forward to this event each year,” adds Mundorf.
