Bower Place opens new wing to great excitement

Sep 19, 2019 | 3:45 PM

These are exciting times at Bower Place Shopping Centre as its new east wing has opened up at long last.

Shopper’s Drug Mart, which relocated from the south side, held its grand opening last weekend.

“We have Marshall’s coming right around the corner, so it’s very exciting. The Marshall’s grand opening will be October 1,” says Megan Lingley, Marketing Assistant for Bower Place.

“It’s been a long time coming. We’ve been working on this for several years ever since Target closed. We’ve really been looking forward to the results, so to see it finally open and to see people using the new entrance, it’s really rewarding.”

When it opens, Marshall’s will cover approximately 25,000 square feet on the new wing’s second level.

While there will be several other units management will look to fill, Sunterra Market, which operates stores in Edmonton and Calgary, will open in the new wing in early 2020.

Meantime, the Great Indoors Market will reopen on the lower level of the old Sears around mid-November, while Spirit Halloween has also taken up temporary residency in that location through October.

“We kept saying that big changes are coming, and now the big changes are here, but we can also look forward to more big things,” Lingley adds. “The shopping centre will never stop growing and we look forward to all the new things that Bower has around the corner.”
