Mounties nab burglar in Riverside Meadows

An alert neighbour helped Red Deer RCMP halt a home burglary as it was happening Friday afternoon.

Sgt. Mike Zufferli says the neighbour called police at about 1:20 p.m. to alert them of the robbery happening at the 5900 Block of 60 Avenue.

Zufferli says the neighbour happened to be the father of the owner of the home that was being broken into and confirmed no one was home at the time.

Mounties responded and surrounded the residence until the woman gave herself up for arrest. Charges are now pending.
