Drayton Valley RCMP Report: Sept. 5-11

September 5

9:23 am – Drayton Valley – 53 St – Complainant reports theft of telephone wire and possible theft of truck parts from adjacent residence. Member attended, confirmed short length of wire stolen, unable to confirm theft of truck parts.

10:00 am – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reported a truck had hit the ditch, three males trying to get it freed. Member attended, valid registration/ins etc, no issues with driver, but one of the passengers was arrested on a warrant out of Evansburg.

2:30 pm – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reporting a company truck stolen from where it had been left parked on a lease site. The truck was located the next day having been left in a field near Buck Creek. Still under investigation.

4:07 pm – Drayton Valley – RR75 – Complainant reporting that around midnight August 29 an unknown suspect entered a shop and stole a large quantity of tools. Under investigation.

September 6

11:30 am – Parkland County – Twp Rd 512. Staff from Parkland County reported the theft of a traffic counting device, approximate value $5000.

11:35 am – Brazeau County – Lodgepole area – Complainant reports culprits entered an oil company storage yard and stole a quantity of pipe.

11:37 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting the theft of some grounding cable from a lease site.

11:42 am – Drayton Valley – 50 St/50 Ave – Complainant reported his Surly Moonlander fat tire bike stolen, multiple unique features, valued at $2900.

12:05 pm – Brazeau County – Rocky Rapids – Complainant reported the theft of his black 2004 F250 from behind his residence. Not immediately noticed as the truck had been parked out of sight.

1:18 pm – Parkland County – Twp Rd 514 – Complainant reported that over the previous two days someone stole some tools and a generator out of his camping trailer. Under investigation.

2:01 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Ave/43 St – Town of Drayton Valley staff reported unknown driver, likely in a dually pickup truck hit crosswalk sign. Approximate cost to replace sign $5000.

3:16 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock High School – Complainant reporting locked compound entered and two busses vandalized. Under investigation.

September 7

1:44 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 St – Two vehicle collision, no injuries.

6:18 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a single vehicle rollover. Vehicle on its side. Lone occupant left the scene walking towards a residence. Member attended and located driver who advised the vehicle would be removed.

September 8

6:50 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted theft of two trucks sometime overnight. Locks have been punched out and ignitions tampered with.

12:19 pm – Drayton Valley – Industrial Road – Complainant reporting a break and enter to business’s over night. Doors damaged and three laptops, batteries and office keys taken.

5:37 pm – Brazeau County – RR 83 – Complainant reporting someone dumped cows into their pastures and broke lock on gate to do so.

September 9

9:20 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting theft of their 2017 black Yukon Denali which had been parked at Iron Clad Repair.

9:34 am – Brazeau County – Twp Road 514 – Complainant reporting an abandoned trailer in the middle of the road. Member attended, trailer associated to a related theft which occurred on the weekend.

September 10

3:29am – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Member attended and arrested male on another matter, secondary search resulted in a charge of possession of stolen property.

8:40 am – Drayton Valley – Foxwood Inn – Complainant reporting two cars had been broken into sometime over night. Two vehicles had the mirrors taken off them.

5:14 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Street – 911 hangup from cell phone. Members attended and located the caller who advised they had an argument and called because they were mad.

September 11

4:39 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting their grey 2001 Yukon had broke down. Complainant had made arrangements to get the vehicle towed, however prior to it being towed, the window was broken and hockey equipment stolen.

12:05 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Request to assist fire department at basement fire. Fire was put out quickly. Possible cause was a space heater that had been left on.

11:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting unwanted female is trying to take apart the coffee machine and bothering customers. Member attended, female had left.
