New board chair for Chinook’s Edge School Division

The Chinook’s Edge Board of Education held their annual Organizational Meeting on Wednesday.

The Board elected Allan Tarnoczi as Chair, Colleen Butler as Vice Chair, and Holly Bilton as Second Vice Chair.

Colleen Butler, who has held the Chair position for the past nine years, had provided the Board with advanced notice that she would not be running for the position this school year as part of her personal succession plan.

“I believe that unity is our defining strength as a Board, and I believe this serves our division and our students well,” said Tarnoczi. “I am looking forward to continuing our governance journey together as Board Chair, and I would like to thank Colleen Butler for her many years of strong leadership on our Board.”
