Second man charged in Lethbridge hockey tournament assault
LETHBRIDGE- A second man has been charged in connection with an altercation at a youth hockey tournament over the weekend.
On Sunday, video footage was captured of a referee being accosted by a group of men on the ice.
Lethbridge Police Service said that prior to, the referee had gotten into a verbal dispute with a 10-year-old player in the Quest for the Cup tournament. The player then hit the referee twice with his stick.
The 55-year-old game official then pushed the player to the ground, which led to an altercation with a group of adults, including coaches and a relative of the player.
