Red Deer Catholic Regional Schools says phase two of the modernization at St. Patrick’s Community School is now complete.

In this phase, officials say the modernization consisted of adding more offices and a new gym equipment room. It also included updating existing classrooms, constructing a new chapel, refreshing the gathering area/music room/shop and reconfiguring bathrooms/change rooms.

St. Patrick’s Community School modernization started in July 2018 and scheduled to be complete by the end of November 2019. The construction of this project was divided into three phases:

• Phase 1 – built the new addition to the school.

• Phase 2 – modernization of a portion of the remaining building and was turned over for the start of the school year this August.

• Phase 3 (the final phase) – is currently under construction and will be completed at the end of November 2019.

Currently, we are two months ahead of the initial schedule.

“Our students and staff are happy with our learning spaces. The new spaces offer more opportunities for collaborative teaching and makerspace activities,” said Principal, Terri Lynn Mundorf at St. Patrick’s Community School.
