Aug 18, 2019 | 10:59 AM

There was something brewing for a great cause this past Monday at Bo’s Bar and Stage.

“Who Brewed it Best” challenged 12 Alberta craft breweries to come up with their finest creation featuring a secret ingredient – haskap berries.

In addition to being a competition between the breweries, the Tap’d Out Food and Beverage Festival event was one of several being held across the province in support of the Parkinson Association of Alberta. Proceeds from Monday’s event at Bo’s event will stay in central Alberta and go towards PAA’s core services and to support research.

The event raised more than $5,000.

Two breweries took home the top prizes on Monday with Snake Lake Brewing winning the People’s Choice Award and Blindman Brewing landing the Judge’s Award.

Thanks to all 12 breweries who took part: 4th Meridian Brewing Company, Belly Hop Brewing, Blindman Brewing, Grain Bin Brewing Company, Field & Forge Brewing Co., Ribstone Creek Brewery, Hawk Tail Brewery Sawback Brewing Co., Snake Lake Brewing Co., Siding 14 Brewing Company, Troubled Monk and Undercurrent Brewing Ltd.
