EDMONTON- Communities across Alberta are encouraged to get their Alberta Blue Cross Healthy Communities Grant Program application in before the August 31 deadline.
The Alberta Blue Cross Healthy Communities Grant Program provides funds for communities to build active living spaces such as playgrounds, park trails, playing fields and more.
Six grants of $50,000 each are available to be awarded equally across the region between Edmonton, Calgary, secondary cities, rural communities and Indigenous communities.
To date, Healthy Community Grants have supported more than two dozen projects across the province ranging from a skate park in Fort Vermilion to an outdoor gym in Lethbridge, with funding totaling $1.3 million.
