RCMP were investigating Friday afternoon after crews thought they’d found an explosive device at The City of Red Deer’s waste management facility (1709-40 Avenue).
“Red Deer RCMP and the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit (EDU) have completed their work at the Waste Management Facility and have determined the suspect device is not dangerous nor suspicious in nature,” a release states. “It was determined to be a discarded prop used in paintball and contained only dish soap.”
A portion of the dump as cordoned off while crews dealt with the suspicious item while the public drop-off area remained open.
