Over 60 local students entering grade three this fall celebrated their graduation at RDC on Wednesday from the eighth annual Reading College, hosted by the Foundation for Red Deer Public Schools.

Officials say the program has made a big difference over the past month for the struggling readers involved, resulting in a significant boost to their reading and writing skills.

For the month of July, students had their best summer ever, immersed in a literacy-rich environment where they received a lot of support in developing their literacy skills and being inspired to read and write.
