RCMP seek vehicle related to Tiki Laverdiere’s murder

As the homicide investigation into Tiki Laverdiere’s death continues, RCMP are asking for the public’s help in locating a vehicle related to her murder.

Police have released images of a 1997 black Dodge Ram 1500 regular cab pick-up truck with the Saskatchewan plate 333 KLC.

The vehicle was stolen in North Battleford on May 2, 2019.

Officers said it is believed the vehicle could be in the general area of the Moosomin First Nation or the Resort Village of Cochin, but this cannot be confirmed.

The truck has a standard transmission, faded black paint and a white sticker across the top of the rear window.

Three people have been arrested and charged in connection to the Edmonton woman’s death. Brent Checkosis, 18, is charged with with accessory after the fact to murder, improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle.

Earlier this week, 32-year-old Danita Thomas and Shayla Orthner, 27, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, kidnapping, improperly interfering with a human body and theft of a motor vehicle. All three were order to have no contact with a number of individuals who may be co-accused or offer evidence in the case. All three are due back in court on Aug. 2.

Laverdiere’s remains were found in a rural area outside of North Battleford on July 11. She was in the area at the end of April to attend a funeral on the Thunderchild First Nation. She was reported missing on May 12.

Anyone who sees the vehicle or has any information in the case is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
