Inclement weather delays Waghorn Street repaving in Blackfalds

Due to recent inclement weather, officials with the Town of Blackfalds say the repaving of Waghorn Street will be delayed until August 22.

As a result, road closure barricades will remain in place, so drivers are reminded to follow the detour signs.

Officials note the construction will alter access to the Civic Cultural Centre, FCSS and Tayles Water Spray Park, with the project to be performed in phases and take approximately four weeks to complete, depending on weather.

Once work begins, it’s anticipated the road closure will also affect BOLT Transit services and stops along East Ave. and Waghorn St. which will be temporarily relocated along Broadway Ave. for the duration of the project.

Temporary stops will be placed in front of Broadway Liquor (north bound) and Granden Auto (south bound).
