Preliminary hearing scheduled for Red Deer homicide

Jul 25, 2019 | 10:05 AM

Two people charged in a Red Deer homicide this past spring will face a preliminary hearing next year.

Quentin Lee Strawberry, 38, and Jennifer Lee Caswell, 37, are charged with second-degree murder and assault causing bodily harm in the death of 45-year-old Joseph Alfred Gallant on March 29, 2019.

That’s when RCMP attended a residence on 40A Avenue in the Grandview neighbourhood where a man was found with serious injuries. Mounties say the victim, 45-year-old Joseph Gallant of Prince Edward Island, was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries.

Strawberry and Caswell will face a preliminary hearing – to determine if there’s enough evidence to go to trial – in Red Deer on February 28, 2020.
