Playground speed zone changes approved in Sylvan Lake
Council for the Town of Sylvan Lake has given final approval to changes that aim to increase pedestrian safety and reduce motorist confusion in both school and playground zones.
This after council gave third and final reading to its newly amended Traffic Safety Bylaw Monday night.
Town officials say the changes to school zone designations in the community pertain to speed limits and regulations within school zones and all hybrid zones where a playground structure exists, which are now set to playground zone hours.
Playground zones are described as zones where drivers must slow down to 30 km/hour between 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m. daily.
