Saskatchewan youth dies in Provost crash

RCMP are investigating the cause of a crash that killed a Saskatchewan youth in Provost over the weekend.

On July 13 at approximately 2:00 a.m., Mounties responded to a single fatal collision on Highway 600 at the southwest entrance to Provost.

Provost RCMP along with an RCMP Collision analyst remained on scene for several hours investigating.

According to police, the preliminary investigation has revealed a truck was heading eastbound towards the Town of Provost on Highway 600 and collided with a guard rail at the Airport Road intersection before entering a ditch where both occupants were ejected.

Tragically, a male youth from Macklin, Saskatchewan was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second youth was transported to local hospital with serious life-threatening injuries.
