Man dies in motorcycle crash near Ponoka

RCMP are investigating the cause of a motorcycle crash near Ponoka last week that claimed the life of a 56-year-old man.

According to RCMP, the crash happened on July 10 shortly after 7:30 p.m. on Highway 792, just north of Highway 53 West.

Ponoka Traffic Services, EMS and STARS Air Ambulance were called to the scene where a motorcycle had gone off the road and into a ditch.

Officials with STARS say the driver and lone rider of the bike was taken to Royal Alex Hospital in Edmonton in critical condition.
