One dead in east central Alberta crash

RCMP say one person has tragically died following a single vehicle collision near Provost, which is about three hours due east of Red Deer near the Saskatchewan border.

The crash occurred on Hwy 600 at the southwest entrance to Provost around 4 a.m. Saturday morning.

A second occupant of the vehicle which crashed was taken to hospital with injuries.

Hwy 600 was closed for several hours, but has since reopened.

RCMP note that more information will be provided when it becomes available.
