Two young grizzlies lured by Rocky residents’ garbage
Alberta Fish and Wildlife Enforcement posted on Sunday that they had numerous confirmed reports of two young grizzly bears in the north end of Rocky Mountain House.
Officials say the bears have been getting into residents’ garbage left in non-bear-proof containers.
Residents are asked to not put out any unnatural food sources to help ensure the two young bears cannot get to them.
People are also reminded not to leave garbage and compost out unless in bear-proof containers or in buildings that bears do not have access to, even after the two young grizzlies have been relocated, to prevent further incursions.
