Man charged with second degree murder in Ermineskin pedestrian fatal

Charges have now been laid following a year-long investigation into a pedestrian fatality on the Ermineskin First Nation last July.

RCMP say Kyle Littlechild, 27, of Maskwacis, was arrested on July 4 and charged with one count of second degree murder in the death of 29-year-old Delaina Lace Cutarm.

Mounties say Cutarm was killed after being struck by a vehicle on Schoolhouse Road shortly before 1:30 a.m. on July 6, 2018.

Maskwacis RCMP responded and after investigation determined the incident to be a homicide.

Edmonton RCMP Major Crimes Unit (MCU) worked in conjunction with Maskwacis RCMP during the 12 month investigation.

Police say Littlechild has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Wetaskiwin Provincial Court on July 9.
