Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report June 20-27

June 20

9:24 am – Drayton Valley – Carlton East Apartments – Complainant reporting a break and enter to their apartment sometime overnight. WiFi router taken.

3:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 55A Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a site. Copper wire taken.

9:38 pm – Brazeau County – Joshua Blvd – Complainant reporting a black bear on their deck. Member attended, bear was gone upon arrival.

June 21

8:15 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a break and enter overnight at Valley Concrete. Suspects drove through the gate, cut the side of a seacan open and took tools.

9:08 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting credit cards have been opened in their name. Complainant has been contacted by an officer from Calgary stating they had obtained documents related to a fraudulent investigation in which personal identification was found from several individuals. Complainant has been receiving mail from several credit card companies advising they have been approved. Matter still under investigation.

6:24 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant advised that fuel from heavy duty equipment has been siphoned. Two vehicles, one is an early 2000’s white Ford crew cab with damage to the box on the drivers side. The other is a blue 1980’s crew cab with red tidy tank in back. Members attended location, vehicles not located.

7:12 pm – Drayton Valley – IGA – Complainant advising of a shoplifter. Female left with two bags of groceries. Got into a grey suv and left.

9:28 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Street – Complainant reporting a dangerous driver in a newer silver Pontiac 4-door vehicle. Vehicle is swerving, then stopping in the middle of the road. Members attended and located vehicle. Related to an assault by passenger.

11:04 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Member on patrol observed a truck enter a lease site near Rocky Rapids. Member recognized by member. Vehicle stop conducted. Male passenger identified as 35-year-old Garrett McConnell who was wanted on multiple warrants. McConnell held for hearing and remanded.

June 22

3:39 am – Drayton Valley – Madsen Avenue – Member on patrol conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle weaving and speeding on 50 Street. Driver arrested for impaired driving.

2:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Wal Mart – Complainant reporting a white and orange old travel trailer has been abandoned at Wal Mart. Owner had it for sale the other day for $100. Then left it in the parking lot.

7:42 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a baby deer tangled in the fence. Complainant trying to assist, but mother is very aggressive. Member attended and removed deer from fence. Minor injury.

June 23

12:20 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting being chased by vehicle. Member located vehicle parked at 7-11 with about six youth around it. Member spoke with driver who advised they were playing a game. Member advised them that the game was very dangerous and to stop playing it.

11:21 pm – Drayton Valley – Country Style Trailer Park – Complainant calling to report two males in the back alley wearing hoodies with flashlights. Complainant went outside and the males took off down the alley. Member attended and located males. A search of their backpack produced no break in tools or stolen items. Parents notified.

June 24

12:04 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Fire and EMS requesting assistance with a single vehicle motorcycle accident. Minor injuries, transported to Drayton Valley Hospital.

8:59 am – Drayton Valley – 50A Street – Complainant reporting flower pots were stolen from in front of Lincoln County Oilfield on June 21. Suspect vehicle is a white smaller truck with female driver.

9:45 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to residence sometime over the past two days. Unknown what was taken. Matter is still under investigation.

June 25

12:29 am – Brazeau county – RR 81 – Complainant reports that they returned home after the weekend to find the doors unlocked and jewelry taken. Suspect vehicle is a black Dodge Ram long box. Matter is still under investigation.

10:18 am – Brazeau county – RR 73 – Members on patrol located a burnt out truck which had been stolen from Edmonton. Vehicle towed.

10:57 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant called to report threats being made via Facebook. Complainant stated that they were having a disagreement which escalated to a physical fight and then threats. Both advised to block each other on Facebook and any other social media sites.

11:37 am – Drayton Valley – IGA – Complainant reporting a hit and run while parked at the IGA. Matter is under investigation as a licence plate was obtained.

3:13 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – Complainant reporting a flag person hit on the highway in construction zone. No injuries to flag person – Driver charged with dangerous driving and failing to obey flag person.

June 26

10:37 am – Brazeau County – Aspen Landfill – Complainant reporting that the pesticide container storage building was entered. Appears that someone had constructed a fire near the man door. No lock on door and no damage to building.

7:55 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant calling to report a injured deer needs to be put down. Members and Fish and Wildlife attended, deer was deceased upon arrival.
