‘Best in West’ rugby match Saturday in Red Deer

High-calibre senior men’s rugby action is hitting the field in Red Deer this weekend.

The Prairie Wolf Pack take on Team B.C. at Great Chief Park tomorrow night (Saturday) in the first of a two-game series to determine the “Best in the West.”

The Prairie Wolf Pack, based in Calgary, is the senior men’s representative rugby team that combines the best players from Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba. The team competes in the Canadian Rugby Championship (CRC), which is the highest level of domestic rugby in Canada. The CRC provides an opportunity for players to test themselves against the best in the country and is used as a training and selection tool for the Canadian National Senior Men’s team.
