RCMP Major Crimes unit investigating incident near Rimbey

More details are expected today after RCMP said the Major Crimes Unit was investigating an incident in the Rimbey area Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:11 p.m., according to a media release.

STARS Air Ambulance tweeted at 4:45 p.m. that they were called to a scene call emergency near Rimbey, but there is no confirmation at this time whether it was related to the RCMP incident.

“We rendezvoused with EMS at the Rimbey Hospital heliport and transported a male, approximately 52 years old, who suffered a trauma, to the Foothills Medical Centre. He was in life threatening condition,” a STARS spokesperson told rdnewsNOW.
