HIV testing Thursday in Red Deer
Turning Point, along with Primary Care Network’s Street Clinic, is taking part in the 2nd annual national HIV Testing Day on Thursday (June 27).
“The goal of the day is to effectively target groups disproportionately affected by the virus,” said Kevin Cunningham, Health Promotion Outreach with Turning Point.
National HIV Testing Day aims to reduce the stigma often associated with HIV testing.
“Building on the success of last year, this event is truly about normalizing HIV testing, increasing Canadians’ capacity to make informed decisions regarding their own sexual health, and decreasing stigma’’ says Gary Lacasse, Executive Director of the Canadian AIDS Society.
