Power outage scheduled for parts of Normandeau starting tomorrow
Starting tomorrow, Tuesday June 25, there will be multiple power outages in areas of Normandeau over the course of the next three weeks.
Outages will begin at 9 a.m. and typically be done by 4 p.m. while crews work to upgrade electrical equipment in the area. Outages will vary in length from one to four hours at a time, and some customers may experience more than one outage. The outage will impact approximately 1,000 residential properties, but is not expected to affect area businesses.
City officials say the service interruption is necessary for system maintenance and safety.
Customers that will experience outages will not be notified directly by Electric Light & Power in advance of a power outage. For the first week to week and a half, they will be concentrated in the area of Red Deer Village. Signage will be in place at the entrances to affected areas when outages are to happen.
