Red Deer man facing drug charges

A Red Deer man is facing drug and other charges after a week-long investigation by Red Deer RCMP and Alberta Sheriffs.
In partnership with the Alberta Sheriffs Safe Communities and Neighbourhoods unit, the Red Deer RCMP General Investigation Section conducted an investigation into suspected drug activity at an apartment complex on Boyce Street in Red Deer.
On June 5, a search warrant was executed and police seized 33 grams of cocaine, over $6,000 in Canadian currency and two weapons.
Douglas Allan McFarlane, 66, has been charged with seven Criminal Code offences including possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of a scheduled substance and four counts of breach of recognizance.
