County ag tour tickets on sale
(RED DEER COUNTY) – Red Deer County Agricultural Services is pleased to announce that tickets are on sale for the 2019 Agricultural Tour. Urban and rural residents who are interested in learning about today’s farming practices should plan on attending this exciting and informative tour. This event will provide guests the opportunity to explore local farming operations, learn about the effort and technology that is in involved in our food production, and to speak to the farmers directly.
According to Red Deer County Agricultural Services Manager Cody McIntosh, The Red Deer County Ag Tour has become a fixture during the summer. For over 16 years, guests from urban and rural areas have learned so much about the innovative and highly successful farming operations we have right here in Red Deer County. The diversity of agriculture in the County never ceases to amaze me.”
Tickets are $35.00 and include a delicious catered lunch. Guests are asked to meet at 7:30 a.m. at Cross Roads Church (38105 Range Road 275 – across from the Red Deer County Centre). Buses begin loading at 7:45 a.m. and will leave at 8:00 a.m. Those attending should dress comfortably and to be prepared for farm conditions and a full day of touring. The tour runs rain or shine and concludes back at Cross Roads Church at 5:00 p.m.
