EDMONTON- Premier Jason Kenney says his government has begun negotiations to try to offload crude-by-rail contracts signed by the former NDP government.
The United Conservative Party promised during the provincial election campaign to scrap the plan to lease 4,400 rail cars to get more oil to market.
The party calls it a catastrophic mistake.
Kenney says his government is in confidential negotiations with the private sector about taking over the contracts.
