Driver flees after crashing stolen vehicle in Lancaster

There was a large police presence in the Lancaster neighbourhood Monday morning after a stolen vehicle struck a light pole.

The single-vehicle crash near Lockwood Ave. and 32 Street happened at around 6:30 a.m., according to an RCMP spokesperson.

Witnesses reported seeing the female driver and lone occupant of the vehicle flee the scene.

Police confirmed the vehicle was stolen. A containment of the area was set up and the RCMP Police Dog Service was called in, but police were unsuccessful in locating the driver.
