City conducting RCMP customer service survey

Jun 7, 2019 | 12:26 PM

The City of Red Deer wants to know what residents think about the customer service they receive from RCMP.

Citizens who visit the downtown detachment from June 10-21 for front counter service will have the chance to provide feedback on their experience through an electronic survey,

As well, those who call the non-emergency RCMP complaint line will also be asked if they’d like to go through a phone survey.

“Most people coming into the detachment, they’re quite often victims of crime or they’re coming in for a specific service, like a criminal record check, or they’ve been in a car accident,” says Paul Goranson, Director of Protective Services.

“They’re not criminals, theyre coming for a service, so the service we provide should be no different than what you’d get or expect in any other service-related business.”

The survey is part of a broader police service and governance review, Goranson notes. The review is expected to be completed this fall.
