Athabasca University moves convocation to Red Deer due to wildfires

Due to the unpredictable and rapidly evolving wildfire situation in northern Alberta, Athabasca University is moving its 2019 Convocation ceremonies to Red Deer.

The ceremonies are taking place at the Westerner Park Exhibition Hall this Friday and Saturday.

Athabasca University will present honorary doctorate degrees to disability advocate Rick Hansen and to Commonwealth of Learning President Asha Kanwar. Alberta’s Advanced Education Minister Hon. Demetrios Nicolaides will also be attending.
