London Drugs unveils new concept store in Red Deer

May 30, 2019 | 9:01 PM

London Drugs officially re-opens in Red Deer on Friday after an extensive renovation and the addition of a medical clinic.

The entirely redesigned and expanded 34,533 square-foot store features an open concept layout, improved shopping experience in every department and comprehensive health care services that complement those offered at the pharmacy.

The new walk-in medical clinic, which is currently accepting new patients, makes non-urgent health care services more accessible for Red Deer residents who may not have a family physician or are unable to get in to see them quickly.

“With doctors and pharmacists working side-by-side, we can provide more coordinated care to our patients. The new clinic will offer convenient access to health care for non-urgent medical services,” says London Drugs store manager, Brian Ozga.

London Drugs in Red Deer has been committed to serving various charities through including the Red Deer Regional Hospital, Red Deer Immigrant Centre, and Covenant Care, among others. In continuing its support, the London Drugs will celebrate the grand re-opening of the store with a $5,000 donation to the Red Deer Food Bank.

“We are excited to celebrate the newly renovated store with our customers and the community,” said, Ozga. “It has always been a priority for us to make a positive difference in terms of health care, charity and sustainability, and we’re proud to continue to serve this great community that has supported us for so many years.”

London Drugs is welcoming customers to a ribbon cutting ceremony and grand re-opening celebration on Friday, May 31 at 8:45 a.m. The first three customers in line will receive a London Drugs gift card. As well, the first customer in line will be invited to participate in the ribbon cutting ceremony.

The grand opening celebration continues through the weekend, June 1 to 3, with great deals throughout the store.

On Saturday, June 1, London Drugs is ‘bringing the ocean to the prairies’ with a unique mobile education experience put on by the Vancouver Aquarium. The AquaVan will be onsite from noon until 4 p.m. featuring live animals, marine artifacts and hands-on interactive activities designed to encourage stewardship of our oceans and waterways.
