Suspicious package reported at Safe Harbour

The area surrounding Safe Harbour on 53 Avenue in downtown Red Deer was blocked off late Thursday afternoon after an employee at the facility reported a suspicious package.
Red Deer Emergency Services and Red Deer RCMP responded at about 4 p.m. The RCMP Emergency Response Team was called in from Edmonton to assess the situation.
The ERT dealt with the suspicious item and the scene was cleared just after 8 p.m.
