Gold selling scam surfaces in Lacombe
The Lacombe Police Service is reminding the public to be aware of people attempting to sell gold and high value jewelry.
Police in Lacombe say they’ve responded to a number of complaints of people being approached in mall parking lots and banks by people attempting to sell gold and jewelry which they say is real. In the end the gold/jewelry turns out to be fake.
“People are being approached and asked to purchase gold and jewelry in public locations. The jewelry in the end is actually fake,” states Constable Vaughan Bleasdale. “We want to remind the public that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is and to call police if approached by a suspicious persons selling these products.”
