May 21, 2019 | 7:08 AM

The Red Deer Silhouettes Synchronized Swim Club brought home from the Jean Peters competition in Nanaimo, B.C. over the weekend.

Club officials say their 13-15 ‘Zombie’ team brought home gold after finishing first out of 14 teams from Alberta, BC and the Yukon at the event. This, despite having to overcome significant music issues in their first two swims.

The ‘Zombie’ team comprised of Zadie Andersen, Jolie Chavarria, Naomi Fidek, Kaetlyn Fuller, Sophie Schmidt, Micah Tweedale and Mia Wright has reached the podium at each competition they have attended this year.

Also competing at the event were the Silhouettes two 13-15 duets, ‘Irish Party’, and ‘Day of the Dead’, with ‘Irish Party’ (Mia Wright and Kaetlyn Fuller) capturing a bronze medal. The ‘Day of the Dead’ duet (Naomi Fidek and Micah Tweedale) placed sixth out of 21 duets from BC, Alberta and the Yukon.

In the individual figures category, Silhouettes athletes placed seventh, ninth, 11th, 13th, 14th, 15th, and 16th out of 90 athletes.
