Drayton Valley weekly RCMP report May 2-9

May 2

8:03 am – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reported her license plate stolen from her Chevy Cruze.

9:39 am – Brazeau County – 502 Twp Road/83 RR – Complainant reported hitting a deer at location.

10:13 am – Drayton Valley – Splash Park – Backpack found and turned in to detachment.

12:04 pm – Parkland County – Complainant requested assistance in retrieving some farm equipment. Member spoke to complainant and determined the matter to be civil, advice given.

12:56 pm – Drayton Valley – Independent Grocers – Complainant reported that a female entered the store and then used a reusable shopping bag to steal multiple items from cosmetics. The female then left the store without paying. Under investigation.

1:07 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reported that his red 1995 Jeep Cherokee that had been stolen in Edmonton had been seen in Drayton Valley. Information came via social media. Members made aware but vehicle not located.

1:37 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Members attended government office for wellbeing check at request of staff after a female client made some vague concerning comments.

2:22 pm – Drayton Valley – 51 Avenue – Complainant reported the license plate stolen off her Honda Civic sometime after 11 am, while she was at work.

3:30 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Ave/49 St – Two vehicle collision at location, drivers reported to the detachment.

8:29 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported the attempted theft of his 1999 pickup, parked near Petro Can south.

9:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Dairy Queen – Complainant reports two males stole an advertising sign from in front of the restaurant. The incident was captured on video and the names of the two males were provided. Under investigation, Dairy Queen wants the sign back.

10:23 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 St – Complainant reported the theft of a jerry cans, captured on video surveillance. Under investigation.

11:45 pm – Drayton Valley – Husky Gas – 911 call received. Member attended, business closed and secure, likely a phone problem.

May 3

12:18 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant called from Medicine Hat requesting a wellbeing check on her husband who was in Drayton Valley for work. Husband not answering his phone, has anger issues and is known to drink. Members located the husband in a local hotel. He was fine. It was later determined that there are conditions of no contact in place. The complainant was advised to stop contacting the husband as she was placing him at risk of being charged criminally.

6:11 am – Brazeau County – RR 85/Twp Rd 492 – Complainant reported a black Dodge pickup in the ditch and a white Jeep with 3 male occupants acting suspicious. Member attended, determined one of the males put the truck in the ditch and they were going to try to pull it out. Truck towed from ditch.

8:29 am – Pleasant View Trailer Park – Complainant reporting they received a Facebook message and is concerned for the persons welfare as they haven’t been able to get ahold of them. Members attended and spoke with person who advised everything was ok, they did not have internet or phone for past three days.

1:00 pm – Drayton Valley – 64 Street – Complainant calling to report their ex is refusing to return their property. Ex contacted, they advised they would return property on the weekend.

2:26 pm – Brazeau County – Member on patrol located an abandoned vehicle. Vehicle was unregistered, plate did not match vehicle. Vehicle towed.

7:44 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Olive green Ford F350 with a yellow flag pole is swerving all over the road. Members patrolled the area, vehicle not located.

11:51 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting an erratic driver. Driver is in a white Lancer and is swerving on the road. Vehicle was headed towards Breton. Breton detachment advised.

May 4

2:03 am – Drayton Valley – Derrick Lounge – Complainant reporting approximately five people are outside the bar fighting. Members attended, all parties were gone upon arrival.

11:58 am – Brazeau County – Area of Cynthia – Complainant reporting an abandoned vehicle. Black Chrysler 200. Member contacted the registered owner who moved vehicle.

11:59 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a garage. Male cut the lock on the gate, looked around and went through the truck. Premises secured. Still under investigation.

12:31 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting a break in at oil site. Suspects cut through the fence, disconnected the security gate and pushed it open. Not believed anything stolen.

1:45 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting hay bales on Hwy 624 at RR 71. Member attended, hay bales had been removed from highway prior to arrival.

3:48 pm – Drayton Valley – Lakeview Inn and Suites – Complainant reporting guest failed to pay for hotel room. Subject lives in Okotoks. Matter is still under investigation.

11:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Omniplex – EMS requesting members assist. 25-year-old man involved in a fight. Members attended, EMS canceled. Superficial injuries. Parties were located, consensual fight.

May 5

7:29 pm – Brazeau County – Hwy 22 – complainant reporting a suspicious male near the pump jack north of Boston Pizza. Member attended area, and patrolled area, male not located.

7:34 pm – Drayton Valley – 48 Avenue – Complainant reporting that a suspicious male was wanting to take a boy into the woods. Suspect is a white male, early 20`s, 5 feet tall, high pitched voice, dark hair, light beard wearing a blue baseball cap and a denim coat. Male was carrying a new playing card case. Left the park with 13-year-old boy. Complainant advised that the boy did not know the suspect. Members investigated, and spoke to all subjects and parents. No luring had taken place. No needs for concern. This had been a third party complaint.

May 6

9:55 am – Drayton Valley – Cedar Manor – Complainant reporting theft from motor vehicle. Complainant parked their black 2017 Dodge Ram truck in the parking lot the previous evening. When they returned the following morning they noted that the doors were unlocked and glove compartment was open as well as the centre consol. UFA and bank cards missing as well as an IPAD.

10:13 am – Drayton Valley – 47 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassing communications. Multiple calls being received from several Ontario phone numbers accusing them of multiple crimes. Matter is still under investigation.

3:31 pm – Drayton Valley – 47 Street – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle. A beige Suzuki is on scene after exchanging copper wire with a black Toyota SUV. Patrols made. Vehicles gone.

4:04 pm – Drayton Valley – Centre Court Trailer Court – Complainant calling to report that someone came into their yard and destroyed a tent that someone was living in. Suspect left in a blue sedan towards the library. Axe left behind. Patrols made in area, vehicle not located.

5:34 pm – Area of Lodgepole – Complainant attended detachment requesting members remove squatters from cabin. Matter is still under investigation.

5:40 pm – Drayton Valley – Frank Maddock High School – complainant attended detachment to report they are being bullied by two females from the school. Wants the females spoken to.

May 7

4:36 am – Drayton Valley – Eldorado School – Member on patrol observed known male who is on conditions. Male fled from member. Charges for breaching conditions pending.

7:08 am – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Ford – Complainant reporting an older model car is parked behind in a field. Members attended. Second complaint was received shortly after advising that their 1993 Ford Ranger had been stolen out of the locked compound.

9:55 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to Transalta Powerhouse on Power House Road. Member attended. Matter is still under investigation.

10:54 am – Drayton Valley – 37 Street – Complainant reporting their vehicle was broken into, passport, vehicle registration. Stolen.

11:10 am – Drayton Valley – Legion – Complainant reporting an individual driving with no licence in a red older Ford truck. Member attended, vehicle was gone. Patrols made were unsuccessful.

11:10 am – Drayton Valley – Western Trailer Court – Complainant reporting someone left a pedal bike on their property. Members attended and seized bike.

11:41 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a fraud. An individual opened up a Telus account in their name and racked up a bill totalling $2300 which has gone to collections. Possible suspect.

1:14 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting a break and enter to a lease site. Chain hoist stolen, wires were cut.

1:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Hospital – 911 hangup received from hospital. Ongoing issue persons are trying to dial out.

3:53 pm – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting they located a bank card on an oil field site. Possibly related to recent thefts of copper wire.

6:48 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complaint received that there is a fight in progress, approximately 12 people involved. Members attended, no physical violence, parties separated.

7:08 pm – Brazeau County – RR 43 – Complainant reporting Cause for Critters has received threats from female whose dogs had been removed from property. Member spoke with all parties involved. No physical threats received, yelling and profanities.

7:59pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant advising a white Audi is throwing beer cans out the window of the vehicle. Member spoke with registered owner of vehicle, stern verbal warning issued.

9:58 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting their 15-year-old daughter missing. Daughter had taken off earlier in the night and had not returned. Daughter located at school following day.

11:23 pm – Drayton Valley – Members on patrol observed known male hiding at skate park. Male arrested for breach of probation.

May 8

1:57 am – Brazeau County – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. A blue with grey stripe older Chev extended cab was in front of their location. 1 female occupant, male driver, quad behind. Members attended patrols made with negative results.

3:04 am – Drayton Valley – 7-11 – Complainant reporting suspicious activity. 2 males and 1 female walking around looking into vehicles. Male and female left in a white ford explorer. Member located vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Nothing suspicious.

8:16 am – Drayton Valley – Home Away Inn – Complainant reporting their Black 2014 Ford Explorer was stolen from the parking lot. Keys had been left in the vehicle along with complainants wallet. Vehicle was recovered in Stony Plain.

9:28 am – Brazeau County – Twp Rd 494 – Complainant reporting damage to property. Member attended. Matter still under investigation.

10:16 am – Drayton Valley – 43 Street – Complainant reporting their vehicle was entered sometime overnight. Stolen were scratch and win tickets totalling $250 and Canadian Tire Coupons.

10:51 am – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting a silver BMW sedan passed a school bus that had its red flashing lights engaged. Matter still under investigation.

10:55 am – Drayton Valley – Drayton Valley Ford – Complainant reporting a break in to the lot and vehicle sometime overnight. Multiple customer vehicles broken into.

11:29 am – Brazeau County – Members called to assist Fire department at scene of yard fire. Fire had consumed a work shop.

12:19 pm – Brazeau county – Complainant reported finding cards, documents and photos on a lease site.

1:47 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – 911 hang up received. Members attended as the operator had heard what sounded like an argument. Parties separated.

2:02 pm – Yellowhead County – Complainant reporting theft of four batteries from oil field site.

6:17 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant advised that they found a bike in the middle of a field near Ivan To Park. Members attended and seized bike, brought back to the detachment.

6:53 pm – Drayton Valley – 55 Avenue – Complainant reporting their ex and brother inlaw won’t leave the property. Members had attended earlier and parties had been separated.

7:30 pm – Drayton Valley – Greenwood Trailer Court – Complainant calling to report damage to their vehicle from a tree that had been cut down.

7:53 pm – Drayton Valley – Pleasant View Trailer Court – Complainant reporting a hit and run. Vehicle had hit their 2018 white Toyota Forerunner while parked in driveway.

9:02 pm – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Members called to assist Fire Department at a dumpster fire in the alley.
