A jury trial is scheduled to take place next year for one of six people originally charged in a series of drug raids in Red Deer and Sylvan Lake that saw police seize several weapons including a submachine gun.

Darcey Perry, 27, faces 13 counts in the Oct. 12, 2016 raids that saw members of the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team’s (ALERT) Red Deer organized crime and gang team seize seven firearms from three residences in Sylvan Lake and one in Red Deer after a three-month investigation.

In addition, 68 grams of cocaine, along with various pills, buffing agents and other drug trafficking paraphernalia were also seized.

Perry’s trial is scheduled for Sept. 28 – Oct. 2, 2020.

Two others charged, Robyn Michelle Lehner, 34, and Kyle Schellenberger, 29, are both due in Red Deer Court of Queen’s Bench Aug. 26, 2019 for sentencing.

Justin Sandquist, 28, was sentenced to two years in jail and given a lifetime firearms ban in November, 2017, while Kayla Simms, 23, saw all her charges withdrawn in June of 2017.

A stay of proceedings took place in December, 2016 for the sixth person charged, 48-year-old Walter Cameron.
