Break and enters

RCMP looking into break-ins at oil sites east of Red Deer

May 5, 2019 | 12:28 PM

RCMP in Coronation are investigating two incidents of break and enter at separate oil site properties.

Mounties say it was sometime overnight between April 23 and April 24 that the first B&E allegedly occurred at a Canadian Natural Resource site south of the village of Halkirk.

Suspect(s) gained access by tearing down a gate, and once inside, they stole multiple tools, as well as a portable air compressor and a pressure washer. They also broke into the main office building.

Another overnight break and enter occurred between April 29 and April 30, according to RCMP, at a Karve Energy site located northeast of Castor.

Suspect(s) gained entry by cutting a lock off the main gate. Once on site, they cut apart and stole ground cables located outside of the facilities on the property.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have information regarding these occurrences to contact the Coronation RCMP at 403-578-3666.
