Fire crews put out truck blaze north of Penhold

A closure on Hwy 42 on Friday afternoon was prompted by a vehicle on fire, according to the Penhold Fire Department.

Chief Jim Pendergast says it was just before 6 p.m. on May 3 when crews responded to the blaze just east of Range Road 280 (north of Penhold).

The fire was in the engine compartment of a truck.

“There were no injuries and the fire was contained to the engine area,” says Pendergast. “The fire was started from an oil leak. An engine, tender and command unit responded.”
