Alberta Masters Games Still Needs Volunteers

May 1, 2019 | 8:52 AM

Organizers with the 2019 Alberta Masters Games say they are short 300 volunteers out the total 600 they need.

1,200 athletes will be competing at the Games in Rocky Mountain House and Clearwater County from August 22-25.

“We have some local companies who are sending volunteers, so although it looks like we are short volunteers we aren’t worried,” says Jana Thomson, Volunteer Director for the Alberta Masters Games

People wanting to be a part of the Games do not have to be residents of Rocky Mountain House, although most are according to the Alberta Masters Games Office.

“The largest part of our volunteers are local from Rocky, Caroline and the County, but there are people coming, especially the ones that are sports driven are coming from Grande Prairie and the Edmonton area. Because they want to be part of the sport,” Thomson notes.

Volunteers for the Alberta Masters Games will be provided with meals throughout the event. They will also get a 35% discount on tickets for concerts that are taking place.
