Unattended burning barrel causes brush fire near Delburne

A burning barrel left unattended has been determined as the cause of a brush fire southeast of Delburne Thursday afternoon.
Crews were called to the area of Township Road 372 and Range Road 224 shortly after 2 p.m. with firefighters from Delburne, Elnora and Red Deer County all attending.
Red Deer County fire officials say it took crews about an hour to contain the fire and another hour or so to put out the hotspots.
There are no reports of any injuries or damage to property.
