Suspects caught selling stolen truck in Sylvan Lake

A man and woman face charges after Mounties picked up on the sale a stolen truck last week in Sylvan Lake.

The stolen truck was first spotted by Mounties driving near Banff on April 12.

Both suspects were arrested at a hotel in Sylvan Lake later that day following an illegal transaction regarding the sale of the stolen pickup truck. Upon the arrest, an undisclosed amount of cash and methamphetamine were also seized.

Brandyn Beach, 33, of no fix address and Mackenzie Holmes, 22, of Stettler were charged with five Criminal Code offences, including trafficking property obtained by crime, fraudulent concealment, defrauding a victim of a value exceeding over $5000, using a forged document as if it were genuine, and possession of a controlled substance.

Beach was also charged with fail to comply with a recognizance.

Both were remanded into custody and will be appearing in Red Deer provincial court on Monday.
