Grandview murder suspect arrested, one still at large

One of two people charged in a Red Deer homicide last month is now in police custody.

RCMP say Quentin Lee Strawberry, 37, was arrested Tuesday night on an outstanding warrant in relation to the death of 45-year-old Joseph Gallant on March 29 at a home on 40A Avenue in Red Deer’s Grandview neighbourhood.

Gallant was taken to hospital where he died of his injuries. No details have been released regarding how Gallant came to be injured.

The second suspect, Jennifer Lee Caswell, 37, remains at large.

Strawberry and Caswell, both of Red Deer, are charged with second degree murder and assault causing bodily harm.

RCMP Major Crimes North has taken lead of the investigation with assistance from RCMP Red Deer Detachment and RCMP Forensic Identification Services.

Mounties thank the public and media for their assistance with the investigation.
