Red Deer building permit values down

The total value of building permits issued in Red Deer this year continues to lag behind last year’s numbers.

The latest stats from the City of Red Deer show $4.2 million in building permits issued last month, down significantly from $13.9 million issued in March of 2018.

Year-to-date numbers show $45 million in total building permits issued in the first quarter of this year, down from $60.8 million during the first three months of last year.

City officials say notable permits for March include renovations and alterations to retail spaces at Bower Mall and storm lift station upgrades at 6611 – 67 Street and 5907 – 50 Avenue.
