Lacombe Generals clip Innisfail Eagles for provincial title

The Lacombe Generals are Alberta Men’s Senior AAA provincial hockey champions.

The Gens defeated the Innisfail Eagles on aggregate over a two-game series in which they outscored their opponent 7-4.

Game one was a 4-1 win for Lacombe, and Sunday’s final was a 3-3 tie.

Lacombe also won this season’s ACHW league title going 10-6-0-2 in the process.

Both the Generals and Eagles are now headed to the 2019 Allan Cup — in Lacombe April 8-13 — for which they had already qualified.

Innisfail knocked off Stony Plain last week in game six of a best of seven to earn their spot in the national championship.
