Red Deer firefighters enduring rooftop campout for Muscular Dystrophy Canada
Some Red Deer firefighters are taking part in a rooftop campout this weekend in support of Muscular Dystrophy Canada.
Ben Shillington, Jordan Schidlowsky, Josh Anderson and Griffin Marshall are settled in on top of Fire Hall # 3 on Lees Street. The foursome will be living in a tent and enduring the elements for 96 hours until noon on Monday (April 1), with additional firefighters on the ground collecting donations.
“This is a campaign that we do annually to support Muscular Dystrophy,” explained Shelby Rae with Red Deer Emergency Services. “It is four days long, and we do boot drives on the Saturday and Sunday to raise funds that we donate back to MD Canada and then it gets distributed from there.”
