Child advocacy centre dream home lottery extended

The Central Alberta Child Advocacy Center (CACAC) Dream Home Lottery is being extended.

Tickets sales for the lottery will now remain open until 11 p.m. on April 7. The final draw will be conducted ten days later on April 17.

“It takes a village to raise a child,” said CEO Mark Jones in a press release. “No more secrets – we need to talk about what is happening to our children and youth. It comes in many forms but the outcome is consistent. By nature, children cannot protect themselves, and when it their family unity is broken or damaged the potential for life log and tragic consequences is staggering. It takes the courage of the entire village to support them, and their extended families during their darkest times. The role or the Central Alberta Advocacy Center is to protect society’s innocent and vulnerable… our children.”

The CACAC is hoping members of the community will come together to help them support the many lives of abused children living in Alberta.

The centre’s mission is to stop the cycle of abuse, and it is urging people to buy tickets to do their part in achieving that goal.

While the provincial and federal governments recognize the CACAC and the work they do, they do not provide funding for all the resources at the center.

The CACAC Dream Home Lottery has over $1.8 million in prizes, including the $1.5 million dream home built by Abbey Platinum Master Builder, a 2019 Cadillac XT4 luxury AWD, 2019 Toyota Corolla and a signature diamond ring.

In addition to the main lottery, there is also a Split 50 raffle with the winner taking home $500,000 if the raffle sells out.

Tickets for the Dream Home lottery are $35 each and the Split 50 tickets sell for $10 dollars each.
