Red Deer funds outreach team to connect with homeless people for housing options
Red Deer city council has approved the formation of an assertive street engagement team to focus on outreach and engagement with the city’s homeless.
A group of individuals will have the task of making a concerted effort to house people in need, specifically those sleeping rough in the city.
The hope is also to reduce the amount of City designated funds required for ongoing clean-up of rough sleeper camps.
The team’s creation comes following a recent evaluation by the Community Housing Advisory Board which made numerous recommendations around Coordinated Entry and Coordinated Access Process.
