Quebec wins hockey gold in OT thriller, Alberta crushes Saskatchewan for bronze
It was an electric atmosphere at the Westerner Park Centrium Friday night as Team Ontario and Team Quebec faced off in the gold medal game for male hockey at the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
After building an early lead before falling behind, Team Quebec came back to defeat Ontario 4-3 in overtime to claim gold.
Quebec opened the scoring with a goal from Guillame Richard with 7:46 left in the first period. They added another one in the first when Maxime Pellerin tipped in a shot from the point past Ontario goalie Ben Gaudreau.
Ontario battled back, scoring three goal in the second period to take the lead. The go-ahead goal came off the stick of forward Brennan Othmann on a rebound.
