Local high school students bringing light to Canada Winter Games
Visual arts students at St. Joseph High School have been invited to take part in a special art project for the upcoming Canada Winter Games.
On February 8, students participated in a full-day workshop, in which their stylized animal drawings were developed into three-dimensional lanterns using wire, reed, bamboo, rice paper, glue and LED lights.
Along with project partners at École Secondaire Lindsay Thurber High School, these lanterns will be on display at the White Gallery (Sunworks on Ross Street) during the Canada Winter Games.
The visual art students will also participate in lantern walks on February 19 and 25 at 6:15 p.m. from the White Gallery down to City Hall Park.
